GoodPostal in ChatGPT
Connect GoodPostal to ChatGPT and build branded emails, manage contacts, and prepare campaigns by chatting. GoodPostal runs as a remote plugin you add through ChatGPT's developer mode, so there is nothing to install and no keys to copy.
The endpoint
ChatGPT uses the GoodPostal chat endpoint, which exposes a curated set of 44 tools chosen for conversational use. Setup and delete actions stay in the GoodPostal dashboard, so a chat can build and prepare, but the riskier account changes remain in your hands.

Custom plugins live behind ChatGPT's developer mode. You only need to do this once.
- 1
Open ChatGPT settings
In ChatGPT, click your avatar and choose Settings. - 2
Open Plugins
In Settings, open Plugins, then scroll to the bottom of the list and open the Developer mode entry. - 3
Enable developer mode
Turn Developer mode on. ChatGPT labels it elevated risk, which is its warning about running plugins you do not trust. You are adding your own GoodPostal workspace.
Add GoodPostal
- 1
Open the New Plugin dialog
Go to the Plugins page and click + in the top right to open the New Plugin dialog. - 2
Name it and paste the endpoint
Enter the name GoodPostal and the server URL, tick I understand and want to continue, then click Create:texthttps://mcp.goodpostal.com/mcp/chatgpt - 3
Connect and authorize
Open your new plugin and click Connect, then Sign in with GoodPostal. Sign in, pick the workspace you want on the Authorize Application screen, and click Authorize. ChatGPT handles the OAuth handshake for you, so there are no keys to manage.
What the chat can do
Once connected, GoodPostal appears in the composer's tools. Ask in plain language and ChatGPT calls the right tools for you. For example:
- "Design a spring fundraising email in our brand colors."
- "Add everyone in Oregon to a group called Portland Donors."
- "Send a test of my latest template to me."
- "Show me how last month's newsletter performed."
Some replies render as interactive cards inside ChatGPT, such as a template preview or a campaign review summary, so you can see the result without leaving the chat.
Two safeguards worth knowing
Sends always need your approval
ChatGPT can draft a campaign, choose the audience, and check that everything is ready, but it cannot send, schedule, or queue it. When a campaign is ready, GoodPostal returns a review link. You open that link in the GoodPostal dashboard and approve the send yourself. Nothing goes out from a chat.
Contact details stay masked
When ChatGPT looks up contacts, GoodPostal returns a privacy-safe display name and a masked email, for example "Chris D." and "da******47@gm**l.com". Full last names, full email addresses, phone numbers, and street addresses are never sent to the chat. Filtering still runs against the complete record, so you can target by state, city, or subscription status without exposing anyone's personal information. This masking is a deliberate feature, not a limitation.
Troubleshooting
- No workspace to choose. The connection needs an active GoodPostal workspace (trial or paid, including Nonprofit); a frozen or expired workspace will not appear. Open Billing in the GoodPostal sidebar, then reconnect.
- A tool says you cannot make changes. Reading is always allowed, but creating or editing needs write access, which ChatGPT requests on your behalf. Remove the connector and add it again so it asks for write access afresh. If it still fails, check that your seat in that workspace is not a viewer, since viewers cannot make changes however the connector is authorized.
- Asked to sign in again. Your authorization expired. Remove the GoodPostal connector, add it again, and approve.
